Effect of Technology on Our Life & Relationships

In this busy life, it is difficult to get time to meet your friends everyday or weekend while it is much easy to pick up your phone and start chatting. People get addicted to their phone & they use it even when they are with their family, maybe because every time some interesting fella is online who could entertain them while they find their own family members less interesting. People these days tend to communicate more with people online or on phone than with the person sitting right next to them. Relationships in the virtual world can change anytime. You never know the intention of a person chatting with you. You cannot see the expression of a person. You do not know if he/she is manipulating you. It is very hard to judge someone with their social profile.
Science & technology has made numerous changes in our life. It has given us ways through which we can ease our life. Industrialization & modernization has given enough career opportunities & comforts to the overgrowing population. Every day people come up with new ideas which are applied for industrial purposes in order to provide better services at lower costs. Industrialists work to reach the maximum number of people possible to provide those services or goods and due to this competition, people get benefitted.

Internet is another gift from science that has helped people at distant places to connect with each other. Earlier, it was not accessible to everyone and was limited to very few people who could use it to send & receive messages or information. But, these days it is accessible to everyone. Through internet people learn about numerous things, it helps people from completing their school projects to get the appropriate knowledge to clear an exam. EBooks are available on the internet which anyone can buy in a second and start learning.  This internet also helps in managing details about people, taxes, food requirements & etc.

Internet has changed the way how we connect with other people. In this day & age when everybody is on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, people tend to invest more in the virtual world than on the real world. Everybody wants to have the best profile picture, the maximum number of likes or re-tweets and a huge fan following. People do everything possible in order to get the attention of people they hardly ever known or met. According to a study, people spend around 35 minutes on Facebook & 40 minutes on YouTube each day. That is just the average, some people spend hours on these sites and those who are obsessed with their fan following spend their whole weekend on social sites.
Believe it or not, science, technology & development has made life complex. We need to understand the technology, income tax, banking, money management & what not. In this busy life, it is difficult to get time to meet your friends everyday or weekend while it is much easy to pick up your phone and start chatting. You may have heard stories that some girl met a boy via social media and they had that perfect relationship but the possibility of happening such events is very low while the possibility of any mishap is very high. “People these days have thousands of friends but they are alone on the inside.” This is because the internet cannot fill that gap, you need some real people around you to talk & spend time with you.

Earlier, all the family members used to dine in together while the mother cooks the food so that everybody could enjoy the hot & fresh food together. Family members used to talk with each other, discuss issues & share the problems, which was essential to have an emotional connection with the family & a good relationship. In case some food is left, then people used to share it with the neighbors. But these days, the food is in the fridge & everybody eats it whenever they want to and neighbors hardly know each other.

We can talk with our loved ones living far from us or see them anytime through a video call, that’s the good side of technology. We need to learn how to efficiently use the technology to make our life easy & happier and not to complicate it by surrounding ourselves with so many unnecessary things. Technology should be used to learn, communicate, discover, develop, make more money & make your life easy. If you are that person then you are on the right track.
